Why?

I'm sure there are thousands of bloggers today talking about the heinous events that happened today in Sandy Hook.

I was tempted not to write a single thing about it because I feel like it's being splashed around enough. However, I can't wrap my mind around this. All of this senseless death. All of these decimated families and lives. I think of the last few years and the amount of death that just doesn't make any sense to me. The stuff that it's hard to keep going after. And I wonder, what everyone is wondering I suppose, Why? Why did these babies have to die? Why are young mothers taken from their children long before we think it's time? A young boy killed before he had the chance to be who he was going to be. What is the reason? And why Lord can't we see the big picture now to ease the hurt?

I don't know the answers to any of this. I don't have a grand lesson here. All I have are questions and a mind that won't rest. A friend of mine said today that the day of Jesus' return can't come soon enough, and let me tell you what, never has an amen meant amen as much as it did this day.

I guess my plea is, Come Lord Jesus. Take us away from the broken. We long to be in our eternal home. One of peace, love, and perfection. No tears. No tragedy. No death. Won't you please come and take us home?
