Otherwise titled, the one in which I have cardiac arrest then I remember to trust in God.
After the obligatory hour of reading One Fish Two Fish in my steamy bathroom at 4 a.m. with my beautiful son I decide he's ok enough to wait until the Doc's office opens. Promptly at 8 I call and get him an appointment for 10:45. We get there and he is, well, fussy. We'll say fussy. Ornery hell beast seems mean. Probably more suited though, but I digress. Anywho we commence the check up and the lovely Doctor looks into his right ear and says, "Oh look his tubes are coming out!" To which I replied, " HE DOESN'T HAVE TUBES!" That's when we learned that my gorgeous son had shoved a toy into his ear.
Off to the ENT we went. Praise GOD for Lakeside ENT in Batavia! They are totally fantastic! They took us right in no appointment no questions. They were gentle and fabulous with him. In 35 seconds the toy was out and the ordeal over.
What's my point? Good question. At 4 a.m. I was not thankful for my son's scary health situation or the fact that I was awake. However, if he didn't have croup he wouldn't have gone to the Doctor. If he hadn't gone to the Doctor we wouldn't have found out about his ear and it almost certainly would have done serious permanent damage to his ear and his hearing. So tonight I can say thank you Lord for the croup.
Oh my word! How totally scary :(
ReplyDeleteIsn't it so amazing how God works? I am glad every thing worked out for good :)
