So last week at this time I was preparing myself and my family for a trip to Boston.
Last week at this time I was panicked to the gills. I thought I was going to spontaneously combust I was so charged up and anxious. Did I stay home and let it win? NOPE! I pushed through with prayer and support from my Hubs. The prize I got was a spectacular weekend with a couple of our best friends and our family.
I am not going to lie, the anxiety gripped me as we began speeding down the thruway at 75 miles per hour away form home. Then I started to relax. I started to look at God's glory around me. The mountains and the trees and the wonder in my kids' faces as they see things they have never seen before.
I went into countless numbers of rest stop bathrooms, and, wait for it, I rode the SUBWAY! Are you kidding me?? I thought I was going to pass out. My Husband and Bestie thought it was hilarious. I am sure I looked a sight trying not to touch anything and keep from keeling over! Then I looked over and my Daughter grabs the bar and then puts her hand DIRECTLY on her mouth. I guess after that I figured well it's not going to get much worse I might as well relax.
We went to FENWAY! My Hubby and I were like little kids in a candy store seeing this awesome place that we have been watching on TV for so long. We had some awesome game playing with some truly awesome people. Our kids got to hear some "fun" stories about when Mommy was in high school. And they got to get to know and love my Bestie and her Hubs. Those things are priceless.
If I had given in to my anxiety and panic like I wanted to I wouldn't have experienced any of this. My kids, my Husband, and I would have been robbed of this beautiful time together. I thank God today that He gave me the push and strength I needed to move my self out that door and down that highway.
I suppose a trip to Stuff Mart shouldn't be that big of a deal anymore, eh?
I am so proud of you and glad you got to experience all of this with the people you love the most!
