Thanks Seinfeld

It's funny how one tiny dumb thing can lead to a lesson.

Other emets will know what I am talking about here. I saw a TV show today that had vomiting in it. I immediately ran to the TV to turn it off as soon as I heard it was on. My mind said so fast, it must be an omen that I am going to get sick tonight. WHAT??!! That is insane!

So before I knew it I was headed to the cupboard for my safety net medication. It has been 10 days since I have taken one. I got to the cupboard and reached for the handle. As I looked up I saw it. The faded construction paper taped to the cupboard door. On the paper is "neatly" printed:

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."
Deuteronomy 31:6

Then I remembered. I don't believe in omens. I don't need unnecessary medication. I don't need to sit and worry. Why, you ask? Because I am a child of God. I am saved, held, and cared for by the One who will never let me fall. He knows the path I am taking and He has promised good to me all of my days. Faith beats fear.

Lord, Thank you for the win. Please increase my faith as the days pass. Amen.
