You know what's fun to get out of clothing and carpet? Spilled wax.
My beautiful Son who is reminding me daily that he is inching toward two decided to take advantage of Mommy and Daddy being distracted. He strategically and slyly moved a chair over to Mommy's dresser. He climbed up and spied the candle sitting on the warmer. He must have thought to himself, "This is too good to pass up." And indeed he didn't pass it up.
He grabbed that jar and proceeded to spin and spill. All over himself (thank God it wasn't burning hot), all over my dresser, into open drawers of clothes. Into a *CLEAN* hamper of laundry, and of course the coup de gras, my carpet.
This reminds me of Kyra's first foray into the mischievous. My precious perfect princess found a canister of granulated fish food. She took it upon herself to "feed" the entire living room. 4 hours and two vacuum canisters later the mess was nil.
At one time or another all of my beautiful babies have turned the corner from innocent baby child to the lovely toddler. Bailey was especially vocal about her entrance into toddlerhood. She painted her entire room with the contents of her diaper. A real poopy Picasso. It took two adults, two face masks, four gloves, and 3 hours to clean up that one.
So I would like to take this opportunity to say, "Welcome Mr. Jack." Welcome to the toddler club. Mommy will miss her innocent baby child. However, I will NOT wish this phase gone too quickly, as I have come to notice it disappears in an instant. About how long it takes one 2 year old to draw Humpty Dumpty on the living room wall with magic marker. But that's another story for another day.
