Pancreas Panic

So my pancreas is being a wang.

I went to the emergency room on Saturday morning to find out why I was in pain and I was there three hours and they finally came in and said, "It's your pancreas." Then they walked out and sent me home with some instructions.

So I get home and realize this is scary and I have about a million questions. Like, how on earth did this start? How does it get better? What are the long term effects? So what does every good and psychotic person do when they have medical questions? That right, I googled it. BIG MISTAKE.

Now I am reading all of the scary crap that could happen and all of the undesirable symptoms that this usually causes. Namely vomiting. As Pamela would say, GAH. Naturally it's Saturday afternoon and I have no doctor to call to ask all of these pretty awesome questions. So I wait. And I panic.

This morning at 8 on the dot I phone my doctor's office to get an appointment for today and they say, we don't have anything open until 1 pm. Super. Now I can stew some more.

So I went in search of some comfort from the ultimate Healer. And this is what He lead me to:

"I will sing of your strength,
in the morning I will sing of your love;
for you are my fortress,
my refuge in times of trouble.

You are my strength, I sing praise to you;
you, God, are my fortress,
my God on whom I can rely."
Psalm 59:16-17

Pastor Andy once said the antidote for big worry is big praise. So that is what is going to be filling my mouth this day. BIG PRAISE! He is good. He is trustworthy. He has promised good to me all of my days. No matter what happens at 1 pm today I know that my body, my soul, and my worries are in the mighty and capable hands of the Healer who always gets it right.

So join me today, if you have big worry or if you don't, in some BIG praise!
