Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He's coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day
I have heard this song about a hundred times at least, but today I stopped and thought about that last line. "Oh glorious day!" I think the only other time I have heard that line authentically uttered was by my 7 year old Daughter on Christmas Eve. I remember we were talking about it being time for bed so that Santa could come and then she could wake up and open her gifts. She got so excited that she started to shake and the joy built up inside her came out in a bubbling shriek of, "OH GLORIOUS DAY!"
That is the way I want to wait for Jesus. I want to be so excited that I can't hold my joy inside and that it bubbles out! I want to be a child on Christmas Eve waiting for my Savior to come again. So anxiously awaiting that I can't sleep.
If you have ever been around a little one at Christmas time you know that their excitement is contagious. You can't help but to get that tingling anticipation when you see their faces and hear their tales of what's to come. As Christians we should be that way. We should be overjoyed at the prospect that soon He is returning and telling everyone who will listen about what's to come. And the happiness that knowing that brings should be evident in all of our ways.
So on this 95 degree day in June I dare you to look deep inside to see that joyful anticipation of a child on Christmas Eve. I encourage you to think about Paradise and what the returning of Jesus means for us. I invite you to join me while I bask in the loveliness of the life to come, praising Him all of the way home.

I love that song too. Oh glorious day when I will see my child whole and healed in Christ's presence. When I will no longer be subject to this sinful nature. Oh and don't forget the added bonus - when there will be no more sickness or panic!! I can't wait for that glorious day!!
ReplyDeleteAmen! I am praying for your daughter and your family. And especially you. I can't imagine the load you bear. So glad that you have a relationship with Christ so you can hand over the reigns.
