The Widow

Why would you wait to love someone until they are gone?
Why would you wait to pick up the phone and call until it's too late?
Why would you wait to say nice things until a funeral when they are alive to hear it now?
What would make you take someone for granted, instead you should cherish.

Being complacent and flippant with someone's life will only leave you with a sac full of regret. Never pass up an opportunity to call, stop by, or let them know that they are loved. Those times are a precious gift from God. When you look back on a life you don't want "I wish I had" when instead you could have "I am SO glad I did".
It takes more than money to care for the folks that we are called to take care of. It takes time, energy, and love. Those are the things that they need most. They may have enough food, a strong shelter, and heat, but if they don't have someone to talk to it can be just as crushing as hunger. So if you have a spare minute today and you love someone call and tell them so. If you know of a person who is lonely give them a little of your attention. I promise you will never live to regret making someone smile.

" If a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God."
1Timothy 5:4
