The Beautiful Now

Today is not going well.

Jack woke up at 4 am shrieking like someone was clipping his toe nails. I brought him into bed with me where he proceeded to wiggle, jiggle, and jab my precious Husband and I while still shrieking. So as any good Mother would do I spent the next two hours wandering with him about my house looking for any odd place that he felt comfortable and happy. That place ended up being my fibro ridden arms standing in the living room swaying back and forth. ARGH! So this takes us to 6 am.

That's when Kyra got up. Red from head to toe. Fever of 103. SUPER! Now I have a grumpy over tired infant and a sick 6 year old if your keeping track. So I look at my darling Husband for some life raft, when the darling looked at me and said, "I have a bad feeling it is going to be a late night." And that's when I lost it.....I kept myself from stabbing him for real, but don't misunderstand it was a close call.

This brings us to 8 am. When I am able to call the doc and find out we can be seen this morning! YAY! A small win! I take all victories especially on days like this! So we proceed to "survive" until then. Cry and whine here. "She looked at me" there. You know the drill.

Now the Doc, thank GOD. (Because I know a nap is coming!) He diagnoses my precious first born with Strep throat and Bronchitis. So I say, knowing full well the answer, will this be passed around my house? And the precious man says "That's a very good possibility." That's when I lost it.....I kept myself from stabbing him for real, but this was VERY close.

On to 11:30 lunch. Kyra OBVIOUSLY is so DEATHLY ill she could not POSSIBLY eat a thing. So the pleading and begging commenced and she ate a Popsicle. Bailey of course is such a beautiful and mailable being that she ate the thing I put in front of her, IMAGINE! Jack impatiently shoveled his food in and screamed until the girls were done. Tums anyone?

Now..this brings us to now. The most beautiful and delightful time I have ever had. NAP TIME. It is NOW when it was finally quiet enough for me to hear God whisper in my ear. He said, "My precious child, I care for you like you do for them."  "When you aren't strong come to me and I will sway you in my arms until you are filled up again." I will tell you this,, I would do the first half of this day a million times over to get to the precious, gorgeous now.

Take time with your Father God. HE loves you and HE will fill you up.
