I've been having a hideous few days full of full on panic.
This morning I opened my daily devotional book and this is what it read for today:
This morning I opened my daily devotional book and this is what it read for today:
"WORSHIP ME ONLY - Whatever occupies your mind the most becomes your god. Worries, if indulged, develop into idols. Anxiety gains a life of its own, parasitically infesting your mind. Break free of this bondage by affirming your trust in Me and refreshing yourself in My Presence. What goes on in your mind is invisible, undetectable to other people. But I read your thoughts continually, searching for evidence of trust in Me. I rejoice when your mind turns toward me. Guard your thoughts diligently; good thought choices will keep you close to Me."
~ Sarah Young, Jesus Calling
My fear is becoming an idol. It's becoming something I worship instead of focusing on my God. NOT worshiping false idols?! That's a commandment folks! Holy cats. Crap just got real up in here. Things need to change!
Trying my best to focus on Him and stretch my trust muscles. The thought of making Jesus rejoice stirs something up in my try-hard-to-please heart. All I have to do to make Jesus happy is just trust He will take care of me. So pushing forward with a new resolve to stop stomping on the commandments and trust in the Lord.
